British‑Indian contemporary photographic artist and award‑winning filmmaker
Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society • Exhibited at V&A, London • Invited to 10 Downing Street • Published in Black & White Photography Magazine
I am a British-Indian contemporary photographic artist and an award-winning filmmaker residing in London.
I was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society for an Artist Book, Silent Voice, an immersive project, making visible the invisibility of an Alzheimer’s condition. My intention is to raise a substantial amount for Alzheimer’s Charities through the sales of the book – both a Collector’s Edition and a Standard Edition.
Even before my BA graduating in Photography in 2015, I was always drawn to art, bringing to light and further awareness about social issues needing to be addressed.
My artwork has been published in various photographic magazines over the years. I have extensive experience working with different artists and have in the past, auctioned some images for charity at the V & A museum.
I was invited to 10 Downing Street in recognition of my charitable endeavours. In partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, I had produced 10,000 copies of Embracing Life After Cancer, a photographic booklet, documenting the lives of South Asian Women in London affected by cancer. I was subsequently asked to lead a HOPE (how to overcome problems effectively) course at Lynda Jackson Centre for those undergoing cancer treatment.
I have worked as a photographer on the set for the multi-award-winning short film, Itsy. This led me to work on an award-winning feature, Nine Nights as an Associate Producer. Volunteering to work as a mentor, with fellow photography students of University of Westminster, has always been a rewarding experience for me.
